World-cup fever...germany 5 - argentina - 3!

Yep it's another soccer posting... can't resist but to join in the recent soccer posting frenzy

With soccer maniacs sharing their passion for the sport for their country and the Germany/Argentina game...it brings me back fond memories of a match I once watched live at the stadium back home...10 years ago (yea time flies)...

Setting?: Kallang stadium, Singapore vs Tottenham Hotspurs - Friendlies

Not an ardent soccer fan and soccer wasn't the main objective of seeing the match then, (rather an opportunity for my friends to see long haired "good-looking" goalkeeper and I tagged along:)) the memories of the atmosphere, the roar of the crowds, the hand-gripping nervousness during the last mins of the game, the fighting spirit of the team until the end is something worth experiencing.

We went with an expectation not expecting Singapore to win, we were the underdogs, david facing goliath. But like tonight's match, we went into penalty shoot-out. The only memories of that match were the last moments when there was suddenly hope that the unlikely becomes possible, when Singapore fans came together as one to cheer for our home team who were fighting hard, when we started linking cold clammy hands and stopped breathing, when our goal-keeper stopped one goal then the next...and the final deafening roar...YEAH WE WON!!

Tonight I fully appreciate the feeling and emotions of fans, player and supporters of both countries... Both teams were strong but tonight the winner well-earned the victory.

Since beer and soccer are perfect concoctions some interesting and hilarious beer ads to share...:)
